Backpackers Korea Dongdaemun Review

I had a wonderful time in Korea because of Backpackers Korea (BK). I stayed at both the Dongdaemun branch and the Sinchon branch.

It was great stay made more enjoyable by the owners, both Sam and NK. They chatted with their guests and even treated my friends and I spicy rice cake from this famous delivery stall. The staffs were also very approachable and extremely friendly. They never failed to lend a helping hand and didn't seemed reluctant to help, and they gave constructive advice when i shared with them my itinerary and travelling plans. The staff even when the extra mile, one staff, Ju even helped us ordered jajangmyun delivery!

Throughout my 2 weeks stay, I felt at home; i even made friends from people visiting from other countries and their staff. The rooms were kept clean and comfortable. The services provided by BK were also good too; breakfast was free and I was able to make free calls back to Singapore. Wifi signal was strong in the rooms too and desktops are provided at BK too.

The location of both branches were of walk-able distance to the subway stations. At the Dongdaemun branch, 2 subway line stations are nearby, lots of eateries nearby and I even walked to Dongdaemun market! At Sinchon, the location was nearby to many universities which made the place much livelier! Also, there were many eateries nearby too and was a great shopping location.

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency Review

In the 1960s and 70s, KOTRA developed overseas markets and in doing so served as a driving force in increasing Korea’s exports. In the 1980s, near the end of the Cold War, KOTRA led efforts to achieve economic diplomacy in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. During the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s, as a national investment promotion agency, KOTRA attracted foreign investment to Korea and helped steer the nation out of the economic downturn.

Today, with 111 Korea Business Centers in 76 countries worldwide, KOTRA serves as a vessel through which foreign companies can conveniently cooperate with Korean companies. Last year, Korea ranked seventh for total exports. Trade rose ten-thousand-fold from $100 million in 1951 to $1 trillion in just 60 years.

As Korea strives to lead the $1 trillion trade era, KOTRA is supporting the globalization of Korean SMEs so they can become reliable partners for businesses overseas. Through its investment promotion agency Invest Korea, KOTRA supports foreign companies as they establish and successfully run businesses here.

Hang Ah Ri Review

The kimchi company is premium food company specialized in “kimchi”, the keystone food of the korean diet. we make delicious, one of a kind, gourmet kimchi based on our own unique recipe.

You can really tell that the owners really like food and the experience of cooking for people.  This is evidenced in not only their food, which is always impeccably prepared, plated and presented, but also in their decor, which is simple, but filled with handmade crafts that add a ton of charm into the small setting.  It's a great spot for parents with small kids (they are super-friendly to young children and the food is great for them), and is a great neighborhood restaurant.  Their main benefit is that they are very conscientious about using seasonal ingredients, ingredients that are not too processed, and minimal MSG (minimal b/c I can't imagine how they make oden soup without it).  It's not a place I crave after, but it's perfect for a afternoon

South Korea’s Housing Market Review

House prices in South Korea are rising again, after falling in the second half of 2010. Over the three months to April 2011, nationwide house prices increased by 2.62% (1.34% in real terms), the highest quarterly rise since March 2007, according to the Korean Statistical Information Service. House prices rose by 4.15% during the year to April 2011. However, when adjusted for inflation, house prices were actually unchanged in April 2011 from a year earlier. The government plans more measures to help the housing market, including slashing home purchase taxes from 2%-4% to 1%-2%.  In August 2010, the government eased restrictions on real estate lending.

Economy Of South Korea Review

South Korea has a market economy which ranks 15th in the world by nominal GDP and 12th by purchasing power parity (PPP), identifying it as one of the G-20 major economies. It is a high-income developed country, with a developed market, and is a member of OECD. South Korea is one of the Asian Tigers, and is the only developed country so far to have been included in the group of Next Eleven countries. South Korea had one of the world's fastest growing economies from the early 1960s to the late 1990s, and South Korea is still one of the fastest growing developed countries in the 2000s, along with Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, the other three members of Asian Tigers.[6] South Koreans refer to this growth as the Miracle on the Han River.[7] Having almost no natural resources and always suffering from overpopulation in its small territory, which deterred continued population growth and the formation of a large internal consumer market, South Korea adapted an export-oriented economic strategy to fuel its economy, and in 2010, South Korea was the seventh largest exporter and tenth largest importer in the world.

Korea Investment Corporation Review

The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) is a government-owned investment organization that manages the sovereign wealth fund for the Government of South Korea. The KIC was established by law in 2005. The KIC received initial deposits of $17 billion from the Bank of Korea and $3 billion from the Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance. The KIC has approximately USD$29.6 billion in assets under management as of the end of 2009.

The KIC is restricted to investing only in assets which fall under the guidelines provided by the Korea Investment Corporation Act. The KIC's objectives are to enhance Korea's sovereign wealth and to contribute to the development of the Korean financial industry. The KIC is governed by a steering committee consisting of nine members plus the chairman.

NuWire Investor Review

There are countless news and educational resources devoted to information about investing. Most of these, however, focus on traditional investments: domestic stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The number of resources devoted to alternative investments—real estate, franchises, commodities and peer-to-peer lending, to name just a few—is significantly smaller.

Further, many of the resources that are devoted to alternative investments are also devoted to selling products and services. Clear, objective information about alternative investments can be hard to find.
That's where NuWire Investor comes in: we strive to fill that information gap and educate and update investors on the news, trends and opportunities in the alternative investment marketplace.
As a media source, we are not selling products or services. We simply provide research and analysis to help investors in their due diligence and even give them new ideas. NuWire Investor seeks to make quality information about alternative investments easily accessible.
